ASELSAN, MAGIC-2010′da dünya çapında ilk 10 takım arasında

İnsansız sistemleri ana faaliyet alanlarından birisi olarak belirleyen ASELSAN, uluslararası İnsansız Araçlar Yarışması MAGIC-2010′da dünya çapında ilk 10 takım arasına girmeyi başardı ve 50 bin dolarlık ödül kazandı.

The company was recently selected as one of the top 10 teams out of 12 competitors in the Multi Autonomous Ground-robotic International Challenge (MAGIC 2010), which is jointly sponsored by the Australian and US departments of defense to attract innovative proposals from worldwide research organizations. The competition’s primary objective is to create a challenge to encourage companies to make efforts to develop next-generation fully autonomous ground vehicle systems that can be deployed effectively in military operations and civilian emergency situations.

LONDON (AFP) – Three swine flu vaccines authorised for use in the EU should still be taken in two doses, although a single injection could be enough for two of them, the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) said Friday.

Japanese robot builder Takeshi Maeda is blowing minds with an exciting demo of the latest version of his OmniZero robot.

The ninth generation of OmniZero can transform from bipedal fighting machine into a rolling vehicle as well as a walking seat (See it in action in the video below). The shape-changing robot is 3.4 feet tall and weighs in at 55 pounds.

 

Eccorobot, humanoid bony robot- iskelet yapılı insansı robot

Hümanoid (insansı) robot yaratma yolunda bugüne kadar önemli aşamalar kaydeden mühendisler, şimdi insan iskeletinin anatomisine uygun bir ‘kemik yapısı’na sahip robot üzerinde çalışıyor.
Their project, the Eccerobot, has been designed to duplicate the way human bones, muscles and tendons work and are linked together. The plastic bones copy biological shapes and are moved by kite-line that is tough like tendons, while elastic cords mimic the bounce of muscle.

Japanese scientists aim to create robot-insects; Bilim adamları böcek robot geliştiriyor

Böcek beyninin şemasını çıkaran Japon bilimadamları, robot-böcek geliştirilmesinde bir adım daha attı.
Tokyo Üniversitesi’nin Bilim ve Teknolojik Araştırmalar Enstitüsü’nde görev yapan Profesör Ryohei Kanzaki ve ekibi, yaklaşık 30 yıldır böcek beynini araştırıyor. TOKYO (AFP) — Police release a swarm of robot-moths to sniff out a distant drug stash. Rescue robot-bees dodge through earthquake rubble to find survivors.

These may sound like science-fiction scenarios, but they are the visions of Japanese scientists who hope to understand and then rebuild the brains of insects and programme them for specific tasks.

Ryohei Kanzaki, a professor at Tokyo University’s Research Centre for Advanced Science and Technology, has studied insect brains for three decades and become a pioneer in the field of insect-machine hybrids.

Fransa’daki Claude Bernard Üniversitesi’nde yapılan son araştırmayla, beynin kullanılan aletleri geçici uzuvlar olarak görüdüğüne dair yaklaşık 100 yıldır var olan hipotezin doğru olduğu kanıtlandı.
The brain maintains a physical map of the body, with different areas in charge of different body parts. Researchers have suggested that when we use tools, our brains incorporate them into this map.

To test the idea, Alessandro Farné of the University of Claude Bernard in Lyon, France, and colleagues attached a mechanical grabber to the arms of 14 volunteers. The modified subjects then used the grabber to pick up out-of-reach objects.
